 PULse  Amelia & Me

Amelia & Me is a project that came out of an art residency in Italy September 2014. This video performance became part of  the Verdecoprente Art Festival, Umbria, Italy. The  work uses bio sensors to monitor the human heartbeat to trigger live video images creating a self - directed choreography between the performer and the performed.

The particpant interacts with the projected video wearing a heart rate sensor attached to their ear. If their heart rate is kept below 70- the oil and water separate. If the heart rate rises above 70+ the water and olive oil dissolve into each other.

The Concept was to merge both nature and culture through the collaboration of the body and real-time technology. The body becomes the instrument  to enable a cross over between these two constructs through art practice..
